To provide essential support and resources to homeless individuals, youth, parents, and families, fostering belonging, empowerment, and well-being so everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Our Goals: We support youth and parents in building life skills to manage stress, communicate effectively, strengthen relationships, and grow into positive, resilient individuals.
Our Story
If you are a parent in the community facing challenges with your child, you may feel alone. You may wonder if anyone else truly understands what you are going through. But you are not alone.
There are other parents walking this same journey—and they want to walk alongside you. Today Is The Day Inc. creates space for parents and families to come together, share openly, and support one another through honest conversation and connection.
Our groups invite parents, family members, friends, and community supporters to listen, talk, cry, laugh, and share life together. Most of the parents in our community are not counselors or professionals—they are simply people who understand because they have lived it. They don’t have all the answers, but they bring empathy, lived experience, and a genuine desire to help.
The Today Is The Day (TITD) parent support community includes individuals from many backgrounds and perspectives. While we may not all think or feel the same, we share one powerful common bond: a deep love for our children and a commitment to staying true to ourselves while supporting one another with compassion and understanding.

Today Is The Day Inc. was founded by Tanisha Burton, whose journey as a mother supporting her own child deeply shapes our work. We understand the real-life challenges faced by youth and families because we have lived them—and we lead with empathy, compassion, and understanding.
Empowerment Through Inclusion
We believe every young person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. Our programs empower youth, young adults, and parents to embrace their authentic selves while building confidence, connection, and a true sense of belonging.
A Holistic Approach to Support
We meet immediate needs—such as shelter support and essential toiletries—while also prioritizing mental health and emotional well-being. By addressing the whole person, we help youth, young adults, and families not just survive, but truly thrive.
Community-Driven Impact
We work hand-in-hand with community partners, volunteers, and donors to expand our reach and deepen our impact. Together, we are building a more inclusive, supportive community where youth, young adults, and parents can grow and succeed.
